Michael Ruiz - Business Development -
Michael Ruiz is the National Business Development Manager for Microsoft at Express Data, Sydney, Australia. His role now involves taking Partners and end-customers through experiencing the Microsoft Customer Immersion Experience (CIE). CIE is a tool to help accelerate sales, a hands-on experience for customers to test-drive the productivity platform, a simulated day in the life of a business running: Office 365, Office, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Project & Visio, Windows, Windows Phone Dynamics CRM and System Center and is available in over 130 Microsoft locations and 60 partners locations worldwide. Express Data is currently the only distributor in Australia delivering these sessions and facilitated by Michael himself.
As a certified Microsoft Professional and someone who holds a degree in Marketing and Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney Michael is fully adept at taking on the responsibilities of adding and expanding programs to sustain if not increase current growth at Express Data. He credits his success to his determination and empowerment as well as always trying to do better, as he states "It took me longer in life to get to this stage but it is now part of my mantra."
Michael's experience in the Information Technology field includes serving as the Account Manager at Tech Pacific Australia, the Retail Business Development Manager at Microsoft, Australia, the Account Manager and Lenovo Business Development Manager at Ingram Micro and the IBM Solutions Business Development Manager at Ingram Micro.
His adeptness at building and maintaining relationships with clients as well as his in-depth knowledge of the industry have reinforced Michael's strong analytical thinking and strategic planning interests.
He is a member of the Australian Information Technology Industry and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, an organization that assists those who are directly affected by HIV/AIDS in Australia, as well as a current member of the SGLBA and Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Aside from Michael's professional career and group affiliations, lie his interests in spending time with family and friends, traveling, running, kayaking and exercise. Michael also enjoys mountain biking and Adventure Racing. His greatest personal achievement has been for himself and his team to have finished 3rd in their category in Wildendurance, a 50 km run/walk in the Blue Mountains in Sydney, Australia in 2009.
